Day 1. Arrival at Havana

A pleasant hotel awaits you in Havana. If you like, we can help you to book a transfer from the airport to your 4* accommodation for the first two nights.

Day 2. Havana

After breakfast, at 8.30 am a welcome meeting in the lobby of your hotel has been scheduled. You will meet your guide and your travel companions.
Next, during a city walk, a specialized guide shows you around in Old Havana (UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982). The decor is classic, colonial and colorful. Spacious squares, narrow alleys and lively residents. Visit the Rum museum for an ice-cold cocktail. You can explore the capital a while yourself. Choose where you want to settle for lunch, meanwhile having your eyes constantly focused on this fascinating city.

In the afternoon you will see the 'newer' neighborhoods of Havana.

Dinner will be served in a typical Cuban restaurant.

You will spend the night in your hotel.

Day 3. Havana - Viñales

Today you will travel westwards to the province of Pinar del Rio. Here, Cuba’s best tobacco grows (in the winter months). You visit a tobacco farm (Casa del Veguero) and navigate through a cave over an underground river (La Cueva del Indio).

Lunch is waiting for you at the Palenque de los Cimarrones restaurant.

Viñales lies in a beautiful valley of red soil, surrounded by tobacco fields and limestone rock formations (Mogotes).

The evening is at leisure. There are plenty of private restaurants where you can enjoy dinner with your fellow travelers.

You sleep at the house of a host family (casa particular).

Day 4. Viñales - Cayo Jutías - Viñales

A day to laze, a lazy day at the beach with ivory sand and a turquoise sea. Cayo Jutías has been picked out for you. Enjoy swimming, lounging and having lunch.

If you want, you can make a boat trip.

Later in the afternoon the bus will take you back to Viñales for a second night in your casa particular. The evening is for you and you can arrange dinner yourself. You've probably already seen some nice restaurants.

Day 5. Viñales - Cienfuegos

Cienfuegos, today’s destination, is a city with style and elegance. You will witness it during a tour to the most beautiful places, the open squares, the Malecón and the Palacio de Valle, a palace with neoclassical, Gothic and Moorish influences. When seeing this building, at first it is hard to believe that you will dine there, but it is true.

A casa particular has been arranged for you for your night's sleep.

Day 6. Cienfuegos - Trinidad

Cienfuegos has a flowery botanical garden. There's where you will start today. Next, partly, along panoramic coastal roads, to Trinidad (UNESCO World Heritage). Trinidad is the bird of paradise among the Cuban cities. The town has everything. The sea in the south, mountains in the north, and an exceptional beauty for a bird of paradise of more than 500 years old. The town is delighted with music and dance.

In the afternoon, during an informative city tour, you will see more of Cuba's darling, such as the Palacio Brunet, one of the beautiful mansions in the city and now the Romantic Museum (Museo Romántico).

The evening is at leisure. Plenty restaurants and entertainment to choose from.

Day 7. Trinidad

Today begins with an excursion to the nature park El Cubano. A short hike through this lush area will be rewarded with a cool shower under the waterfall at the end of the trail.

Back in Trinidad you can choose how to spend the rest of the day. Relaxing on the beach of Playa Ancón, about 12 kilometers from Trinidad?
Exchange tips with your travel companions. Find the restaurant of your preference. Stroll through the Trinidad’s streets or settle on a terrace at the Plaza Mayor.

The evening is filled with Cuban live music in the illustrious Casa de la Trova.

You spend a second night in your casa particular in Trinidad.

Day 8. Trinidad - Camagüey

You will head to the East, the less discovered part of Cuba, setting course for Camagüey.

Camagüey is committed to traditions, to patriotism and to a classical style. At the same time, the city is young, cultural and dynamic. Originally the town was founded at the bay of Nuevitas, but after several pirate attacks, Camagüey decided to rebuild the city inland.

The street plan still betrays the fear of pirates. It is a maze.

You get a tour with a bike taxi.

The evening is yours. Be surprised. Camagüey is open to it.

Day 9. Camagüey - Bayamo

After breakfast you will visit a typical craft shop, regional skills.  

The journey continuous south-eastwards to Bayamo, often a forgotten place in travel guides. Bayamo is a very cute and authentic town with a proud heart full of Cuba. You will experience this during a guided tour.

You spend the night in a 3* hotel in Bayamo. The evening is at leisure.

Day 10. Bayamo - Sierra Maestra - El Cobre - Santiago de Cuba

In the morning the bus will take you to the mountains of the Sierra Maestra, the highest in Cuba, a mountain range with a revolutionary history. A guide will take you along a beautiful trail during a hiking tour.

El Cobre. Originally a town near a copper mine, now an important place of pilgrimage for as well Catholic Cuba as for Santería devotees, due to the basilica of La Virgin de la Caridad, the Virgin of Charity.

The beautiful views from the mountains, where El Cobre is located, are included. Final destination today is Santiago de Cuba, an Afro-Caribbean party. The evening is yours to celebrate.

Day 11. Santiago de Cuba

Santiago de Cuba has been pickled with the best of African-Caribbean culture, a city with old rhythms and proud people. It is the second city of Cuba, the big city of the East. Closer to the Cuban soul you will not get according to insiders. And today you are part of it. There will be a tour along the city, visiting the citadel Castillo El Morro, the Santa Ifigenia cemetery, where Fidel has found his last resting place, and the monument of Antonio Maceo on the Plaza de la Revolución. Historical monuments in this swinging city.

Lunch at a local restaurant is included.

You will stay in a Casa Particular and the evening is at leisure. Hit the streets of inviting Santiago de Cuba.

Day 12. Santiago de Cuba

A small boat trip will take you to the Cayo Granma. A picturesque fishing village on an island not far from the bay. Thinly populated with mostly wooden houses, some on stilts.

In the afternoon some beach time at Playa Verraco has been planned to recover from so many beautiful things.

In the evening? Immerse yourself again in the city’s nightlife, or watch it relaxed from behind a cocktail.

Day 13. Santiago de Cuba - Baracoa

After a spectacular trip along the coast and over the mountain pass La Farola you reach the idyllic coastal town of Baracoa, the oldest city in Cuba founded in 1511.

Until the Farola Pass was completed in 1965, Baracoa was only accessible by water. Because of this isolation, the atmosphere and traditions have been well preserved. See another Cuba, try other dishes in this historic town between the Sierra Maestra and the Atlantic Ocean.

Day 14. Baracoa - National Park Humboldt

From all sides, Baracoa is overwhelmed by nature. You already see the mountain El Yunque from afar. Today you will enter the Humboldt National Park for a walking tour. And you visit the cocoa plantation of Finca Duaba. After a boat trip on the Tao river you will return to Baracoa for a second night in your hotel, your last of this richly filled trip.

The evening is free. Taste the local delicacies and bring a last toast to Baracoa.

Day 15. Baracoa - Guardalavaca / Holguín Airport

Today the tour ends. It's has been nice. A transfer is included for participants who are still looking for beach fun in Guardalavaca, in the northeast of the province of Holguín. We can also drop you off at Holguín airport, to catch your international homeward flight or a domestic flight to Havana.
