The Patio Sevillano is a small oasis inside the city: fresh, green plants and traditional live music. An adjacent building, with a more modern style, also forms part of the hotel, since it was bought in the 1920’s by the American company Biltmore.
If you choose for this hotel, be aware that with regard to hotels, you have a taste similar to that of Enrico Caruso, silent film actress Mary Pickford, legendary baseball player Ted Williams, artists Lola Flores and Josephine Baker, among other famous visitors.
According to some references, Al Capone once rented a complete floor here. In fact, the owner of the hotel for 20 years, Amleto Battisti, maintained business ties with the North American mafia.
We could say that Seville is a hotel "novel", because some scenes from the book Our Man in Havana by Graham Greene took place here; work that also has a film version.
Business or pleasure?
Business men and women, traveling for professional reasons, can choose the Sevilla hotel. The La Cartuja meeting room and the La Giralda buffet restaurant have facilities for hosting events of various sizes.
Early in the morning, at noon and at night, the Roof Garden restaurant offers excellent dishes while enjoying breathtaking views of the city. Decades ago, its halls also hosted fashion shows and well-known cultural events.
Rest a bit, enjoy a lot
Our guests describe the rooms as simple but equipped with everything you need, and always clean and well taken care off. Anyway, chances are that you spend little time in them. There is a lot to discover!
The Paseo del Prado is a few meters away. Following this alley downwards, it leads to the boardwalk; and upwards, to el Capitolio. This is a good starting point to walk around Old Havana and contemporary Havana. Some of the most interesting restaurants and cafes are located in this area.
