Nearby is the Prehistoric Mural, a painting on rock that illustrates the evolution of man and animals in Cuba. If you think of yourself as an adventurer, go ahead and climb to the top of its 120 meters.

On the way you will bump into El Palenque de los Cimarrones, the museum showing the legends and history of the peoples of African descent who were introduced to the western part of Cuba. Nearby are a large number of caves. The Indio Cave is crossed by an underground river and Santo Tomás Cave is said to be one of the most extensive in all of Latin America with 45 kilometers of galleries.
