Cayo Ensenachos

Cayo Ensenachos is part of the Jardines del Rey , Gardens of the King, a group of hundreds of small islands off the north coast of Cuba. Technically part of the Cayos de Villa Clara , the beaches at Cayo Ensenachos are among Cuba’s best.

The Jardines del Rey archipelago, with some 2500 islets, is the largest and most extensive of the four surrounding Cuba. It is bordered by a 400-kilometer long wall of coral and is one of the largest coral reef in the world; number one is the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.

Cayo Ensenachos, a refuge of endemic flora and fauna, is horseshoe-shaped and has two secluded beaches: Ensenachos and El Mégano . Powdery white sands stretching more than 2.6 kilometers coupled with calm, beautiful turquoise waters make this an enchanting destination. Don’t forget your snorkel gear: there’s decent snorkeling right from the beach here.

There is only one hotel on the island, the 5-star Hotel Iberostar Ensenachos.

Cayo Ensenachos is just 5 minutes from the Cayo Las Brujas national airport, with daily scheduled domestic flights from Havana.

Cayo Ensenachos is linked to the mainland by a massive 48km causeway called the "pedraplen" , which was constructed across the Bahía Buena Vista from the port of Caibarién.
