Review: (5/5) Hotel Reviews: "Congratulations...and some criticisisms!"
user a CubaTravelNetwork.com user, argentina - date posted: Tuesday, March 31, 2009

My name is Carolina. I'm from Rosario. I stayed at this beautiful hotel in March and had the opportunity to visit and get to know other hotels. I continue to prefer the TRYP. I want to underscore the good services and broad variety of dishes offered at the asian restaurant and the work of Osmany, the barman who serves drinks at the bar next to the restaurant, he was very attentive and didn't ask for tips. His drinks were so good and his smile so pleasing that one gave him tips wholeheartedly! Not true of many barmen there who give you nasty looks and treat you poorly if you don't give them a tip at the start. Those people need to take public relations courses and the hotel would do well to offer better training to its human resources, they would then realize that they would profit from offering good services without expecting anything in return, see how the customer surprises them! Everything else was excellent, this is a hotel for young people!! There's so much to do, beginning with Cecilia, who starts with her gym sessions early in the morning down to all of the entertainers...the maids and the people at the reception are very quick and efficient! Thank you for such wonderful days! Don't miss out on this hotel, it is the hippest in the entire Cay...oh, and take money for tips!

 Review: (4/5) Hotel Reviews: "Beautiful!!!"
user a CubaTravelNetwork.com user, argentina - date posted: Thursday, January 08, 2009

I had the fortune to staying at the hotel in 2007. I traveled with my sister and really loved it, it surpassed all expectations. We had very good meals at the excellent restaurants, felt very well treated by the staff, liked the cleanliness and care of the facilities. We had a really marvellous time there. I hope we can go back and see that beautiful sea again. We are from Mar del Plata. A beautiful experience.

Review: (4/5) Hotel Reviews: "very nice! One should be aware of the overpowering microphone..."
user a CubaTravelNetwork.com user, netherlands - date posted: Tuesday, April 01, 2008

In everyway guests are well looked after by friendly staff. The only thing is, one has to be aware of the overpowering microphone being used by leaders of the various activities around the swimmingpool area before, during and after the event (mornings and afternoons), which cannot be avoided and takes to long as they announce their stuff in 3/4 languages!

Review: (1/5) Hotel Reviews: "Will NEVER go back"
user a CubaTravelNetwork.com user, - date posted: Friday, November 30, 2007

This was my second trip to Cuba, first to Cayo Coco. Went alot of places, some were good, some were average, but the Tryp was by far my worst vacation! First of all, we booked in July through Canadian Travel. We saw upon on our arrival that the pool was partly cloed (about 75%) due to renovations. Other tourists told us that their travel agency called them to let them know of the situation and offered to change the hotel. Ours never called us.

THE BEACH: when the tide is low, great beach, but watch out for the jelly fish, many of them. Whent he tide is high.... THERE IS NO BEACH WHATSOEVER! I have pictures to prove is. So 25 % of the pool, no beach whent he tide was high. fortunately, there was the Ecological pool tot he rescue, although not big, it diid the job.

THE FOOD: Cuba is Cuba, but this time, it was awful. Except for the Italian restaurant, the food was horrible. If you are hungry between 3hPM and 6h30PM, the only thing you can get are sandwiches and if you go around 5h45PM, forget it, nothing left!

THE STAFF: most of them are very nice. the Guest service people are great, they tried to accomodate us as much as they could. The waiter Victor is the best, so was Ronny. Some of the waiters though (Erineido and main lobby bar) were rude.

THE ROOM: we had 3 rooms in building 12. Very smelly at first but once the air conditioning is on, smells less (or you get used to the smell). The rooms are very humid.

Will NEVER go back to Tryp nor will I recommend it!
